In looking through my artworks over the years, I can see that cats have appeared in some shape or form quite often. The hint of a paw, an eye, an ear, a flicking tail, whiskers and shadows. It seems to me that this comes from my first experience of cats. My very first best friend, as a toddler, was a cat. He was named “Mischief” but as I was unable to pronounce this, I called him “Mishoff”. I was born on a farm and he was my playmate and used to sleep with me each night. A wonderful companion indeed.
